In celebration of the International Day of Food Loss and Waste, join Open Table and Frankston City Council's Waste & Circular Economy Team for a hands-on workshop exploring practical ways to reduce food waste and save money.
Learn how to turn everyday ingredients and often-overlooked food scraps into delicious meals while building confidence in waste-wise cooking. Together we'll prepare and sample recipes such as veggie scrap fritters and broccoli stem pesto, then make a jar of quick pickles to take home.
Whether you're new to sustainable living or looking for fresh ideas, you'll leave with simple skills, creative recipes and practical tips to help make your groceries go further.
You'll learn how to:
Reduce food waste through simple cooking techniques
Turn overlooked ingredients into tasty meals
Save money by making the most of your groceries
Preserve food and extend shelf life
Build confidence in waste-free cooking
Presented in collaboration with Frankston City Council's Waste & Circular Economy Team.
No prior cooking experience required. All skill levels are welcome.
