Frankston City Libraries offers self-service printing and photocopying at Frankston Library, Carrum Downs Library, and Seaford Library. You'll find convenient facilities for quick and easy public use. Discover reliable printing and photocopying within the Frankston City Libraries branches. You can print and copy documents quickly at your nearest library.

You will also find computers at our Langwarrin outreach location which can be accessed without a library membership. Printing and photocopying is available at this location, with staff assistance.

Scanning is free and can be saved to a USB (USBs can be purchased from our library branches or you can bring your own) or direct to your email.

Please note: Scanned items at Langwarrin Customer Service Centre will be emailed directly to the customer and do not require a USB.

 Use your library card to book a computer at Carrum Downs, Frankston and Seaford Libraries with our booking system before you arrive.

PC & Internet Conditions of Use

Effective: 21 December 2020

Frankston City Libraries provides access to public computers and Wi-Fi for library members who agree to be safe, smart and responsible online and who agree to abide by the conditions of use below:

General

• Your Frankston City Libraries membership number and PIN must be given to log into the library computers or use the wireless network (Wi-Fi). Not a library member?  It is free to join, click here.
• Library membership cards are not transferable for purposes of computer use
• Internet use must meet general community standards and users must not deliberately access illegal, inappropriate or restricted material
• The responsibility for acceptable use of the internet by users under 18 years old rests with parents/guardians
• PC users are not permitted to load software onto library computers
• PC users should be self-sufficient when using the PCs/Internet/Wi-Fi, only limited trouble shooting can be provided by library staff
• Centralised printing facilities are available from the public PCs (not Wi-Fi)
• When accessing audio, earphones must be used for private listening
• Optical discs and USB micro drives may be used
• A maximum of two customers per computer station at any one time
• PC users are responsible for copyright compliance
• The Express computers have a 30 minute time limit and do not require booking
• All other public computers have a 2 hour limit - PC users are required to abide by the 2 hour use per day time limit
• All PCs will shut down 10 minutes prior to closing
• Use of the computers may be monitored at any time
• Failure to abide by these conditions of use may result in access to library computers being suspended

• Visitors to the library are welcome to take out a free membership for the purpose of using the public PCs
• General conditions will then apply
  
  

Bookings

• Your Frankston City Libraries membership number must be given to book a computer. Not a library member? It is free to join, click here.
• Bookings can be made in person, online or over the phone
• Public access PCs can be booked for a maximum of two hours per day
• Bookings can be made for the current day or up to two weeks ahead
• If a booking is no longer required, please cancel as soon as possible
• Computer bookings will be cancelled if the customer does not attend their booking within 15 minutes of the starting time
• Only library members may book a computer

Use the Wi-Fi

Frankston City Libraries allows our members to access free Wi-Fi at our Frankston, Carrum Downs, Seaford and Langwarrin branches. A library card number and PIN are required to login.

To connect to the Library Wi-Fi:

Connect

Open your Wi-Fi settings and select the FCC-Library network
A browser will open up automatically. If this does not occur, manually open your preferred browser.

Select Get Online

You will be asked to agree to the portal terms of use.

Log in

A login screen will be displayed. Enter your Username (library membership number) and PIN (if you don't have a PIN, a staff member can assist you). Select Login. 

You can now print from your laptop, tablet, or smartphone at home or in a branch! Print emails, attachments, photos, boarding passes, web pages and more, using the instructions below.

1. Contact library to setup Print from Anywhere. Once this is complete, you can print to our library from anywhere!
   
   
2. Attach what you want to print to an email (2 attachments per email, max 10MB and in A4 or A3) and send to:
   
   • BWprint@frankston.vic.gov.au  for black and white printing   or
   • Colourprint@frankston.vic.gov.au for colour printing

   Please note printing is held in the queue for 120 minutes and then deleted from our system.

3. To print the attachment/s, visit Frankston, Carrum Downs or Seaford Library and follow the instructions at the printer.

3D Printing at Frankston City Libraries

Frankston City Libraries offer a community 3D printing service for hobbyists, students, creators, and anyone interested in bringing a digital design to life.

How to Request a 3D Print

2. Complete the 3D Print Request Form below.

3. Library staff will review your file, confirm details with you, and apply the printing charge to your library card.

Costs and Timeframes

• $4.50 for the first hour of printing
• $2.00 for each additional hour
• Maximum time for print: 9 hours
• Maximum charge: $20  

Payment is required before collecting your 3D print.

• Most prints are completed within 7 days, depending on demand and complexity.
  Please note: exact completion times cannot be guaranteed.

3D Model Requirements

• Accepted file formats: STL or 3MF
• Maximum file size: 30MB
• Recommended source for models: https://makerworld.com

What You’ll Need to Provide

Each request form must relate to one 3D file. You’ll be asked for:

• Library borrower number
• Name and contact details
• Email address
• File upload
• Desired size or dimensions
• Preferred filament colour (black, white, green, blue, yellow, or grey)
  Colour preference cannot be guaranteed.
• Optional project description to help staff understand your request

Limitations and Restrictions

To ensure safe and responsible use of the service, the library will not print:

• Weapons or weapon‑like items
• Items intended for harm, evasion, or illegal activity
• Items that raise concerns for the physical or online safety of a child or young person (reported in line with child safety and legal obligations)
• Adult or inappropriate objects
• Items that infringe copyright, trademarks, or intellectual property
  (You must own the rights to the design or use open‑source files.)

The library may decline any print request at staff discretion.

Collecting Your Print

• You will be notified when your item is ready for collection.
• Prints must be collected within 20 days.
