Part of the Back to Mending Basics workshop series
A tiny tear doesn’t have to mean the end of your favourite clothing! In this creative, hands-on session, you’ll learn simple techniques to repair small rips and holes so they disappear—or become a stylish little feature.
We’ll guide you through:
- Invisible (ladder) stitch for clean, subtle mends
- Whipstitching for strong, reliable repairs
- Reinforcing seams so they stay sturdy
- Tips for matching thread and fabric so your fix blends beautifully
You’ll get plenty of practice mending pre-cut “rips” in fabric scraps or you’re welcome to bring along something from home that needs a little love.
All materials are provided, including needles, thread, scissors, and optional stabilisers to help you get the neatest finish.
To keep your repair journey going, you’ll also take home a mini repair kit!
Join us to turn small flaws into satisfying fixes and keep your clothes in circulation for longer!
This is a FREE event however spaces are limited, please advise if you can no longer attend.
Suitable for ages: 16+
