Bolinda Digital’s collection can be accessed via smart phones and tablets by using the BorrowBox app.  The app makes it easy to browse, borrow and read or listen to your library’s eBooks and eAudiobooks anywhere, everywhere.

How many can I have?

You can borrow up to 10 eBooks and 10 eAudiobooks (total 20 loans).

Maximum loan period is 21 days and items can be renewed.

What do I need to access it?

Web or full library membership, and your membership card number and PIN.

An email account.

The Borrowbox app if using an Apple or Android phone or tablet.

Internet access to view and download eBooks and audiobooks. eBooks and audiobooks can be accessed without internet once downloaded.

If accessing ebooks on a computer you will also need to install Adobe Digital Editions on your computer and an Adobe ID Authorized in the Adobe Digital Editions Help menu. To sign up for a free Adobe ID account, visit the Adobe ID page and choose Get an Adobe ID (this account can be used for any number of ebook services).

Getting started - Using the Borrowbox App

  1. Download, install and open the BorrowBox app.
  2. In the Library field, enter Frankston City Libraries.
  3. In the ID/Barcode and password fields, enter your membership card number and PIN. If you wish to proceed, agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. On the Complete Registration page, enter an email address where you would like to receive notifications from BorrowBox. The display name is optional.
  5. You should now be logged in.

Borrow Box Features

Dyslexic Users
A new special font is available on iOS and Android eBook readers that makes text more readable for dyslexic users.

Fonts
BorrowBox allows it's eBooks to be read in different fonts to meet our users' needs. The available fonts are;

  • Palatino
  • Times
  • Arial
  • Helvetica
  • Verdana
  • Dyslexic

Adjustable Player Speed
Everyone listens differently, and with the playback-speed options you can enjoy eAudiobooks at your own pace.

Visually Impaired Users
The entire app is optimised to work with Apple's VoiceOver functionality.  BorrowBox utilises the built-in screen reader to provide meaningful auditory descriptions of each on-screen element.  This also includes an optimised eBook experience for the visually impaired.
