For kids aged 3-5 years old. Connecting to Country and Culture.
Join us for a meaningful cultural experience celebrating connection to Country and Aboriginal art traditions.
Led by Sammy Trist, a proud and passionate Taungurung woman of the Kulin Nation, this special session begins with an engaging storytime, sharing stories that connect culture, Country and community.
Following the storytelling, participants will take part in a traditional ochre painting activity, using natural ochre to paint on gum leaves while learning about ancient Aboriginal art practices and their cultural significance.
This is a hands-on, family-friendly event offering a respectful introduction to Aboriginal culture, creativity and tradition. Please book a ticket for each child participating - no need to book a ticket for the accompanying adult. Frankston City Libraries is proud to be able to provide this event FREE of charge to the community. Help us make this event a success by committing only if you can attend. If plans change, please cancel promptly to support our facilitators in preparing for your participation. This will support the ongoing delivery of our programs and ensure access for all.
