General Conditions of Use

Frankston City Libraries are available for use by members of the Frankston, Carrum Downs and Seaford Libraries and visitors to Frankston City who agree to abide by the conditions of use below:

General Conditions of Use

The following conditions of use apply to all Library members and to visitors who use the library facilities without becoming members.  Becoming a Frankston City Libraries member or acting as guarantor for children under 18 joining the library implies your agreement to comply with these conditions of use.

  • Accept responsibility for all items borrowed on your membership card.
  • As guarantor you are responsible for all items borrowed on a membership card that you have signed.
  • Return or renew items on or before the due date.
  • Return all library items via the chutes provided.
  • Report damage discovered in any item on loan to you.
  • Promptly pay all applicable charges for lost  or damaged items. 
  • Notify change of address details.
  • Report a lost membership card to the library immediately. Items borrowed on your card before its loss is reported are your responsibility.
  • Membership will be suspended until overdue items have been returned.
  • Respect other library users and their right to use the library.
  • Adhere to the Customer Code of Conduct.
  • Comply with current Australian copyright legislation.
  • Parents or guardians are responsible for the behaviour of their children at all times.
  • Children 12 and under must be accompanied by their parents or guardians whilst in the library.
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for their children’s selections and use of library resources, including access to the internet.
  • Comply with conditions of use of public computers and internet.
  • Frankston City Libraries accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to personal items or belongings brought into the libraries.
  • Leave the library when requested by Library Staff and at closing time and during an emergency evacuation.
