Human Library

As part of the 2024 South Side Festival, Frankston Library will host its very first edition of the Human Library. All our Human Library  books are now available to be reserved and borrowed.

In the best sense of the word, The Human Library is a library of people and their experiences, on loan for conversations around their personal stories of prejudice.

There is no identifying information given ahead of your chosen reading, just the topic of discussion. You will have 25 minutes of one-on-one conversation with your human book, to ask questions openly, and hold a conversation without condemnation, to be able to acknowledge, understand and move forward together, towards un-judging the world around us.

There are two session times available: 11am, and 2pm

* Please book in only one preferred time slot to converse with your human book.
** Ensure that you read and acknowledge the Rules of Engagement when booking your spot on the check-out page.
*** All participants will receive a phone call from Frankston City Library to confirm their attendance and acknowledgement of the Rules of Engagement.

We look forward to seeing you in our Human Library.
