National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn aboutFirst Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. You can support and get to know your local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities through activities and events held across the country.

This year, Frankston City Libraries is excited to join in the celebrations with a range of engaging and educational activities. Here’s what we have planned for NAIDOC Week 2025:

NAIDOC Week Scavenger Hunt

Date: Monday 7 July - Sunday 20 July
Location: All Frankston City Libraries branches

Get ready for an adventure with our NAIDOC Week Scavenger Hunt! Children and families are invited to explore our libraries, and solve the riddle. Pick up your scavenger hunt map from any of our branches and start your quest.

Recommended Reading Titles on Display

Throughout NAIDOC Week, we will have a curated selection of recommended reading titles available for loan. These books celebrate the voices and stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors and illustrators. Whether you're looking for children's books, young adult novels, or adult literature, our displays at Carrum Downs and Frankston will offer something for everyone. Discover new perspectives and immerse yourself in the diverse storytelling traditions of Australia's First Nations peoples.

Join Us in Celebrating NAIDOC Week!

We invite everyone in the Frankston City community to participate in our NAIDOC Week events. It’s a time to come together, learn, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Mark your calendars and join us at Frankston City Libraries for a week of meaningful and inspiring activities. We look forward to seeing you there!
