For children aged 8 - 13 years

Celebrate summer with a morning of stories and creativity at Carrum Downs Library! We’re excited to welcome local author and teacher Julie Kay, who will share the journey behind her debut YA novel, Crikey Roo. This adventure-packed story follows the Ruby Joy Gang through the fun and freedom of the 1970s - a nostalgic Aussie tale full of heart and excitement.

Julie will chat about the inspiration for her book, the writing process, and what it takes to bring characters and stories to life. After the conversation, stay on for a hands-on craft activity led by Julie, giving you the chance to unleash your own creativity and take home something special.

Join us for a relaxed, summery event that celebrates local talent, great storytelling, and a little bit of crafty fun.

Please book a ticket for all children attending (no need to book for the accompanying adult.)

Frankston City Libraries is proud to be able to provide school holiday events FREE of charge to the community. Help us make this event a success by committing only if you can attend. If plans change, please cancel promptly to support our facilitators in preparing for your participation. This will support the ongoing delivery of our programs and ensure access for all the kids in our community. Thank you.
