Honouring Trans Awareness Week
Join us for a vibrant celebration during Trans Awareness Week! We will hear from inspiring rainbow families as they share their journeys through gender affirmation. Local photographer Marlo W, along with one of Marlo’s portrait subjects, Derek Moo/Meredith Lee, will discuss Marlo's newest portrait book, 'Foreground: Portraits of Older Transgender and Gender Diverse People'.
You will hear heartfelt stories and insights from local support organisations and mental health professionals, including representatives from Headspace, Mental Health and Wellbeing Local Frankston, Frankston Youth Services, Peninsula Pride, and Rainbow Connections.
This event aims to empower, celebrate, and support our trans community and the broader LGBTIQA+ community. We hope you leave with a sense of belonging if you identify as LGBTQIA+ or gain new insights on how to be a supportive ally. After the formal presentations, there will be an interactive session where attendees can connect with support services, meet one another, and explore a creative craft table hosted by Rainbow Connections.
Whether you’re seeking resources, community, or support, this event is your gateway to education and empowerment. Come together to celebrate, learn, and support one another in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere!
