Rewind the tape, crank up the synth, and step back into the electric vibe of the 1980s - a time of big hair, bold fashion, and even bolder beats. As part of AusMusic Month, Frankston City Libraries is turning up the volume with a special event featuring Jane Gazzo; award-winning journalist, broadcaster, author, and proud music hoarder.

In her latest book, I Hear Motion, Jane takes us on a nostalgic journey through the Aussie bands that defined the decade. Think Models, Machinations, Wa Wa Nee, Real Life, and Boom Crash Opera. These were the chart-toppers that lit up Countdown, filled our mixtapes, and made Sunday nights unforgettable.

Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the stories, sounds, and scandals of the ‘80s music scene. From the wild highs of fame to the backstage drama, break-ups, and epic comeback tales, Jane brings it all to life…complete with rare photos and untold gems that’ll make any music lover’s heart skip a beat.

Whether you were there the first time around or just love a retro revival, this event is a must for fans of Aussie music, pop culture, and everything neon.
