Ancestral Dreaming Clap Stick Painting for 8-12 year olds
Next date: Wednesday, 16 April 2025 | 01:00 PM
to 02:00 PM
This session is for children aged 8-12 years.
Please note that there is an additional event for 5-8 year olds which can be booked separately.
Connect with culture & Country making Clap-Sticks with Traditional Custodian Josh West of Ancestral Dreaming.
During this workshop children will learn about the significance of this practice whilst journeying through the creative processes & traditional uses of this ceremonial instrument. Supported to create their very own pair of clap-sticks that reflect these learnings combined with their personal artistic expression.
As a proud Palawa/Bunurong man, Josh West is passionate about educating bupbups (children) about the oldest living culture in the world. When we tread lightly, together on Country, we are following in the footsteps of our ancestors.
A parent or carer is required to stay with their child throughout this event.
