Kate reviews The Yellow House by Emily O'Grady which is available to reserve now via our online catalogue: https://bit.ly/3lAPkaV. Here's what Kate had to say about the book:

I’ve been spoiled by great Aussie books lately and The Yellow House is no exception.

Eleven year old Cub lives with her parents and two brothers somewhere in rural Australia. Her grandpa Les used to live in the yellow house next door, but after he passed away, his dark secrets came to light and now Cub and her family are ostracised in their community.

O’Grady gives Cub such an authentic voice, and perfectly explores that awkward phase between childhood and becoming a teenager, when you start to learn adult truths but can’t always comprehend them.

I’d definitely recommend this one to anyone who loves Jasper Jones or Mark Brandi.
