Warm Winter Read 2024

Beginning on 1 June and running until 31 August, Warm Winter Read 2024 is the statewide reading program for adults.
Featuring recommendations from popular authors both far and wide!
Getting Started
You can register and create a profile via the all new Public Libraries Victoria Read Book website. Or drop into a branch and collect your reading journal, to register.
Win Prizes!
Just by registering via the online platform above, or by returning the recommendation slip from your paper reading journal to your closest branch, you will be in the draw to win the following prizes:
- A weekly spot prize of a Warm Winter Read mug, cozy pair of socks, a selection of tea, and yummy chocolate.
- At the conclusion of the campaign, all registered Frankston City Library participants will be in the draw to win one of 2 Warm Winter Read prize packs that include things to keep you cozy as well as a store voucher to spend on more books!
- All participants will be in the statewide draw to win one of at least 9 books packs, generously provided by the publishers of the 8 Author Ambassadors.
Reading Challenges
Readers are encouraged to tick off six challenge activities as they progress through the Warm Winter Read. These are not compulsory but designed to encourage you to participate in various parts of the reading challenge.
1. Create a cosy reading spot
2. Literary Pair and Share
3. Start a new series or read the next in a series
4. Recommend or review a title
5. Get out an about with an audiobook
6. Read a book that transports your mind.

Pssst....there will be spot prizes along the way for our creative readers! Just tag us in your posts where you are completing a Warm Winter Read challenge and you'll go into the weekly draw!
The Warm Winter Read 2024 includes reading challenges, author recommendations and plenty of incentives to get you reading over the cooler months. There are reading journals and bookmarks available during the Warm Winter Read, from your library branch.
OverDrive (Libby) have sponsored this campaign ensuring that it is free for all Victorian public libraries to participate.
The Warm Winter Read is designed for ages 16+. All registrants will need to specify that they are over this age limit when creating their individual user accounts on the Warm Winter Reads website to access to the challenge.
