Frankston library will be closed for refurbishment from 7pm to Friday 3 June 2022 and will reopen in late July 2022

The closure will allow new carpet to be laid throughout the library, and new shelving to enable better access to the valued library collections.

Libraries Manager Laura Antoniak is excited to be able to offer a refreshed library facility in Frankston.

“In the last library survey, we heard from the community how much they love their library and value their visits.  We also heard that the community felt the library carpet and shelving was looking dated and I’m pleased we are refreshing the Frankston library” Ms Antoniak said.

We’d love people to come in and have a look at the revitalised space when we reopen” Ms Antoniak said.

We realise the timing of the closure is not ideal for many people, and will be creating alternative ways to continue to engage with Frankston City Libraries.

The Clyde Street Mall will be transformed into a Pop-up library, providing access to a limited children's collection, the popular Read-Now books and a space to relax. The team are busy creating this space for the community to enjoy.  For opening times and availability, please join our eNews and follow Frankston City Libraries on social media.

The library community room will be transformed into a library lounge, with space to study and access the free Wi-Fi, or grab a comfy chair to read the daily newspaper. People can still return items through the after-hours returns chute at Frankston library. The café, Writer's Bloc, will operate from the Frankston Arts Centre foyer.

Services at other library locations including Carrum Downs and Seaford libraries, and the outreach locations at Langwarrin Customer Service Centre, Frankston North Community Centre, Frankston South Community Centre and Karingal PLACE Neighbourhood Centre are unaffected.

Online services continue to be available 24/7 at library.frankston.vic.gov.au
