In response to the COVID-19 restrictions, Frankston City Libraries are offering a click and collect service to Frankston City Libraries members. It is now possible to reserve items, wait for a notification that they are ready, and collect them from your nominated branch.

Frankston, Carrum Downs and Seaford branches will be open for collections and returns only. See Locations and Hours for our opening hours.

Please observe all current DHHS restrictions when collecting your items.

You must continue to check-in and wear your mask.

If you are not a library member, you can join online.

How does the Click-and-Collect work?

  1. Reserve your items via the library catalogue or the Frankston City Libraries app. Once you have found the item you wish to borrow in our catalogue, click on ‘place reservation’ and enter your library card number and PIN. You can then select a branch to collect your items from.

  2. Wait for your notification via text or email. Please ensure a current phone number or email is linked to your account via the library website or by calling the library.

  3. Call the branch where your item is waiting and book a time to collect your item.

  4. Come and collect your item/s.

Click and Collect is a contactless service. Your items will be waiting for you at the front entrance.

To help us keep COVID-safe, please wear your mask and don’t forget to check in with the QR code on arrival. If you are picking up a number of items, please remember to bring your own carry bag.

What COVID-safe measures will be in place?

Click-and-Collect is a contactless service. Customers are to wait in the library entrance  and will not be permitted to enter the library to browse or use other library facilities.

In line with current COVID-19 restrictions, all customers and staff are required to wear masks at all times. You must also check in with the QR code on arrival or speak to a staff member to sign in manually. There will be plenty of hand sanitiser available for your convenience and will be undertaking frequent cleaning.

We ask that you keep a distance of 1.5 metres from staff and other customers while waiting to collect your items, and please stay home if you are feeling unwell or are awaiting results of a COVID-19 test.

When will my items be ready to collect?

We encourage you to browse the library catalogue to place reservations and recommend limiting your selections to items listed as AVAILABLE for the best chance of receiving your items quickly.

If the item that you have placed a reservation on is currently on the shelf at one of our branches, please allow 24-48 hours for it to be ready for collection. You will be notified via SMS or email once it is ready.

How long can I keep my items before they are due back?

Please log on to your account to check your due dates as they can change with COVID restrictions. You can also download the library app to access your account.

Items can be returned to Frankston, Carrum Downs and Seaford Libraries via our return chutes.

Can I return items that I currently have on loan at the same time as when I am collecting my reservations?

Yes! Our return chutes at Frankston, Carrum Downs and Seaford have remained open.

I can't decide from the catalogue on which books I would like. Can I quickly pop in to the branch to make my selection?

All libraries remain closed, however you can order a ‘Binge Bag’ and our friendly staff will choose for you!

Am I still able to print while the library is closed?
