Melbourne Museum Engineering 11 July session 2
Next date: Friday, 11 July 2025 | 11:30 AM
to 12:30 PM
In this session, we encourage participants to develop their STEAM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills by engaging in engineering-based problem solving. There are many different types of engineering however all involve similar STEM skills. This kit focuses on civil and mechanical engineering.
Through these activities, we want to encourage curiosity, experimentation, problem solving, collaboration, and a sense of agency in participants. We do this through creating open ended, contextbased problems that have multiple solutions and different ways of engaging.
Some of the STEM skills participants will practice through this kit:
• Designing and building
• Predicting and testing
• Critical and creative thinking
• Breaking a task down into smaller parts
Frankston City Libraries is proud to be able to provide school holiday events FREE of charge to the community. Help us make this event a success by committing only if you can attend.
