Can you help us grow our seed library?
Published on 04 September 2023
Frankston City Libraries are propagating our very first Seed Library!
Our Seed Library has seeds available for library members to collect, grow and harvest.
We’re also always in search of fruit, vegetable and herb seeds to stock the Seed Library. We welcome unused packets of seeds or seeds that you may have harvested from your own garden.
Seeds are available to 'borrow' from our Frankston and Carrum Downs branchs.
How to donate seeds
Collect your seeds in an envelope
Bring them into one of our library branches
Include the following information with your donation.
A printable PDF is below if you would prefer.
- Plant name (eg carrot)
- Variety (eg dutch)
- Date of harvest
- When to sow
- Spacing
- Ideal planting position
- Donors name
- Any notes or growing tips for these seeds
The Seed Library has been created as part of the Frankston City Council Health & Wellbeing Plan, click here for more info on the Health and Wellbeing Plan.
