Monash University Social Worker Clinic at Frankston Library

About the service:

This FREE service is staffed by postgraduate social work students enrolled in the Master of Social Work degree at Monash University. All students are supervised and work closely with qualified experienced social work practitioners.

Our students are educated to provide tele-health, face to face counselling and intensive case management services to clients accessing our service. Our services are safe, effective and best practice.

Monash University provides qualified social workers to supervise students and to oversee the operation and practice standards of the clinic. The clinic operates in accordance with AASW Code of Ethics and practice standards. All client matters are considered confidential

We can provide assistance with the following, but not limited to:

  • Advocacy and support
  • Filling out support forms such as immigration, housing and Centrelink 
  • Assessments for Court Report purposes and support at court hearings
  • Concerns about your safety and wellbeing
  • Mental health support
  • Grief and loss issues including pet bereavement
  • Applications or referrals to Housing Victoria
  • Counselling or emotional support
  • Parenting support
  • Social Isolation
  • Relationship issues

Referrals:

To be referred to the Monash University Social Work Clinic you have two options:

  1. Speak with a library team member about your desire to be referred to our service OR
  2. Self-refer through our clinic email or mobile number below. You may drop in on the days that we are located at the Frankston Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.30am - 3.30pm.
