A culturally immersive large scale art projection bringing to life artworks of Australian/Colombian artist Joshua Searle, highlighting the cultural vitality in these not so inanimate objects, as part of South Side Festival.
Fresh off a research trip back to his cultural homeland, Searle brings as a glimpse of Colombian life and History.
Witnessing pre-Hispanic works firsthand, hearing the stories and feeling the effects of everyday life in Colombia has given Joshua a greater understanding of the power these items hold. Bringing the artifacts to life through Joshua’s artist practice via an immersive projection on a grand scale, where the audience can engage and reflect with the artist's cultural background.
The immersive projection will bring the Frankston Library forecourt to life with a 15 minute all ages animated story created by Mick Russell using Joshua’s artwork and accompanied by a soundtrack produced by a local musician Josh Davies.
6pm to 9pm, Friday 9 May until Sunday 18 May in the Frankston Library Forecourt. No bookings required.
