There are many paths to finding your family history and the library is the perfect place to explore your story.

Use these resources to help you search your family history and uncover the past:

  • Ancestry is part of a global network of Ancestry resources. Access the Ancestry Library Edition from the Carrum Downs, Frankston and Seaford Libraries.
  • Findmypast is a UK based database that provides extensive birth records, census data, obituaries and more. Access from our History/Microfiche computers at Frankston and Carrum Downs Libraries.
  • Databases including Australian births, deaths and marriages, immigration and inquest indexes on our History PC. Please book the History PC for access.
  • Frankston Cemetery Register transcriptions. Type the name that you are looking for in the Search box, after Frankston Cemetry Register.
  • Books and magazines on how to research family history and create a family tree.
  • Come along to one of our information sessions or workshops on this topic. Check our What’s On page for details.
  • If you want to chat with others about your research come along to join in with the local family history groups that meet regularly in the library.
