Have you got a Write Idea? Entries now open…

We’re inviting kids aged 4-18 years to submit a written piece based on the theme of ‘The Time We Stayed Home’. Let your imagination run wild!

This competition is open to children who are Frankston City Libraries members and who live, study or have links to Frankston.

Perhaps you want to write about a fantastical universe just outside your window? Or maybe you’ll tell us all about a mirage that appears behind your wardrobe door? The only limit is your imagination and a word limit of 500 words.

We’re accepting submissions of short stories, poetry, essays, haikus, letters and more – we’d love to read any style that takes your fancy!

Frankston City Mayor, Cr Sandra Mayer, and our libraries team will be judging across four age categories:

  • 4-7 year olds
  • 8-11 year olds
  • 12-14 years olds
  • 15-18 year olds

Entries close on Sunday 19 July at 5pm.

With great prizes up for grabs, including a $100 Robinsons voucher for the winner in each category, it’s time to let those creative juices flow.

You’ll also have the chance to see your work digitally published as an e-book on the Frankston City Libraries BorrowBox app.  PLUS, pending approval, we’ll be exhibiting a shortlist of work.

How to enter:

  1. Write your submission, based on The Time We Stayed Home, in the writing style of your choice.
  2. Fill in your details and submit your work below.
  3. Check that you agree to the Terms and Conditions.

Good luck!
