Women of Altitude


This Mother’s Day treat the women in your life by coming along to hear some great “women with altitude”.

Claire Halliday will share her thoughts about Things My Mother Taught Me at Carrum Downs Library on Thursday 10 May at 6pm. Claire Halliday’s writing career started doing features for The Sunday Age and, since then, has had more than 1000 articles published in lots of magazines and newspapers. A writer for 20 years, Claire loves storytelling. Things My Mother Taught Me is just one of Claire’s five published non-fiction works.

Judy Horacek is an award winning Australian cartoonist, children’s book illustrator and writer; nominated for two Walkley Awards for Best Cartoon. It is a concern for social justice, feminism and the environment that launched Judy into cartooning several decades ago, and she continues with those themes to this day. She is also a great lover of puns. Random Life is a collection of Judy’s cartoons. Judy will be at Frankston Library on Saturday 12 May at 1pm.

These are FREE events but bookings are essential.
