The eSmart Libraries Framework is a comprehensive system providing skills and resources for the library community to confidently manage cyber-issues and continue to embrace the positive aspects of online activity.
The Alannah & Madeline Foundation and the Telstra Foundation formed a partnership in 2012 to develop and implement eSmart Libraries - one of Australia’s most significant community cyber safety initiatives. With an investment of $8 million over six years, the partners work closely with Australia’s 1,500 libraries to connect local communities with the skills they need for smart, safe and responsible use of technology.
The staff at Frankston City Libraries have been working diligently towards achieving eSmart Accreditation. The achievement of this important milestone means library staff can be confident to guide customers to be smart, safe and responsible online.
During National eSmart Week the library is offering some information sessions about eSmart and Cyber Safety. These sessions are FREE but bookings are essential because numbers are limited.
