Celebrate Library and Information Week

Frankston City Libraries joins organisations from Broome to Hobart in celebration of Library and Information Week 22 – 28 May 2017.

Library and Information Week aims to raise the profile of libraries and information service professionals in Australia and showcase the many and varied resources and services that libraries provide to the community. It is also designed to promote the value of reading and literacy, the importance of Australia's book industry and the role of libraries.

Did you know that more than 400,000 visits were made to the Frankston City Libraries in 2016? Over 30,000 people attended library programs and events. And 932,354 library items were borrowed for that same period.

The theme for Library and Information Week 2017 is Celebrate. We will be celebrating by providing a week full of activities for people of all ages. Here is some of what is on offer:

Instagram BookFace Competition

Celebrate Library and Information Week with us at Frankston Library by sharing with us your best BookFace! Simply post your BookFace photo on Instagram and include the hashtag #FrankstonBookFace.  The winner will be selected at the end of Library and Information Week and will receive a voucher from Robinson’s Bookshop.  Council Staff and their families are not eligible to win but we welcome your contributions!
