Frankston and Carrum Downs Libraries are open

From Monday 23 November we are extending the hours that Frankston and Carrum Downs libraries are open, plus there is no limit to the amount of time you can spend in the library.  The library lounge is a great spot to grab a chair and one of the magazines, and spend a little time relaxing.

  • You will be able to browse and borrow our full collection, including our exciting Read Now range of latest releases.
  • Members will also be able to book the public computers and use the printing and scanning facilities. If you’d like to use a public computer during your visit to Frankston or Carrum Downs libraries, we’d recommend booking ahead via the library website: https://bit.ly/3hCpTCT or call the library team on 9784 1020.
  • We will continue our click and collect service from Frankston, Carrum Downs and Seaford Libraries. The return chutes are also open at these locations. Visit the Frankston City Libraries website to browse and search the catalogue for items and reserve them with your library card. Our popular Binge Bags are still available to reserve.
  • If you live in Frankston City and are unable to leave your home, please contact us and we will arrange a delivery for you.
  • In-Library events will be re-introduced in a planned staged approach. Each event will comply with a COVID safe checklist.

  • A number of programs, including our popular FrankTALKS will continue to be offered online, and Storytime on Facebook each Tuesday and Thursday at 11am until mid-December.

We’d like to thank you for taking care of your library resources while the library branches were closed. Nothing is due back until 14 January 2021, however if you have finished your reading pile, it would be great if you can return them to your favourite Frankston City library, so that we can get them to other community members who might be waiting.

Of course, our priority is the health and wellbeing of our staff, visitors and the broader community. Please be patient with us as we follow the Victorian Government’s Coronavirus roadmap to re-opening.

We ask that you please respect each other and our staff, and adhere to the guidelines so that we can all enjoy the library spaces again.

Stay safe by maintaining good hygiene, keeping your 1.5 metre distance from others and if you feel unwell please stay home.
