Join historians from Way Back When for a talk exploring:  How diseases shaped Melbourne.

How did sickness and disease shape the streetscapes of Melbourne?

Why Melbourne was nicknamed ‘Smellbourne’?

When were the first hospitals built and what impact did this have on the health and wellbeing of our city?

What is the connection between the Exhibition Building and the Spanish Flu?

We will consider all these questions and more by looking at the impact of diseases and illnesses from the past, as well as how the current pandemic might be remembered in the future.

Bookings are essential for this free event at 10am on Thursday 22 July at Frankston Library.
